Railroads that interchanged with the Western Pacific Between Stockton and San Francisco
This book covers the railroads that reached tidewater within California. When the Tidewater Southern, Central California Traction and Stockton Terminal & Eastern reached the Stockton waterfront between 1910 and 1912, they found the Alameda and San Joaquin, Southern Pacific and Santa Fe already there. This led to some joint trackage arrangements and some jockeying for the remaining wharf locations.
